Rezumat:  The Language of women and men. Empirical research (chestionnaire). The language of women and men in Germany is defined as a sociolect and therefore part of the sociolinguistics, which analyses the relations between language and the social group typology of speakers. This article is a continuation of a former article, in which I presented the different language behaviour of men and women, the position of the feminist linguistics concerning this topic and the equal nomination of women in the language of law and administration, its characteristics and differences – violence through language, linguistic norms in communicative situations, verbal strategies and gender specific language variants, the object and criteria of the feminist linguistics and the different communication stiles of women and men. This article wants to be the empirical part of the former one, representing the linguistic theory of the language of women and men, and is based upon a chestionnaire among 50 students of the german language as well as of the natural sciences faculties, the german departement, 1st and 2nd year of study. The purpose of this chestionnaire was also a comparison with the students’ mother tongue Romanian or Hungarian in order to see, if we can also speak about the language of women and men in these languages from a sociolinguistical point of view. The students’ reactions, though subjective, proved the topical interest of this matter. The results partly confirmed the linguistic theory of this issue and also permitted a comparison with the Romanian or Hungarian language, where it is less a matter of communication barriers and conflicts. I regard the language of women and men as a gender specific language with a strong subjective and emotional character especially because it is not characterized by a linguistic historical evolution and it appeared and was introduced in the linguistics by the feminist linguistics and movements.
