  Rezumat:  The aim of this paper is to present Corneille’s vision on destiny and fate. According to the author, there is no discontinuity between the comical and the tragic works of Pierre Corneille, both share the same vision on this matter. Destiny is everywhere an acting force, which materializes in such signs as dreams, oracles, prophecies, coincidences. To the realm of destiny and fate pertain also love and the family relations and also symbolic brotherhood. But the characteristic of this vision is the fact that the hero, with self-devotion and generosity, offers himself to destiny and so this force is transcended.
