Being a substantial challenge for governments all over the world, employment in Algeria is so unstable since the country, in transition towards market economy, has the burden of the recommendations of the international financial institutions, the policies of the structural adjustment haven’t done more than employment regression worsening and poverty aggravation among other affects. If it is true that unemployment is an indispensable consequence of reassignment of resources to be operated within the framework of privatization and restructuring of the state enterprises, current high rates seem more and more as an obstacle of restructuring because their economic costs and policies reprimand the global process of reform by slowing down public sector restructuring. It is essential to understand the dynamics and the nature of unemployment in the country to develop well-matched policies with the prolongation of the reforms, at the same time, tackle the difficulties which risen by the strong tightening of employment. The public authorities have as a vital role to lay down the orientation of the Employment Policy.
