Rezumat:  The Someşului Mare Anisotrop Region - Structure and Functionality. The anisotropic regions are at present some of the most studied regional entities, as they are the owners of certain complex geographical phenomena. Their existence as axes (that determine the orientation of the fluxes of mass, energy and information), along several rivers, roads and railways, the inexistence of great polarizing centers within their territory etc, are important features that recommend them for geographical research. We have identified several anisotropic regions in Romania. They are characterized by functionality are interesting for research. These are: the South-Dobrudja region (here the double anisotropy phenomenon is highlighted), Făgăraşului Land, Middle Siret Corridor, Middle Arieş-Mureş Corridor, Superior Prahova, Timiş-Cerna Corridor, Someşul Mare, etc. In this paper we analyze the structure and the functionality of the anisotropic region of Someşului Mare due to its major significance for the northern part of the Transylvanian Plain and for its connection with the Maramureş (the phenomenon of double anisotropy is also present, being determined by the existence of Sălăuţa Valley). The fluxes of energy and mass, along the Someşului Mare, the specificity of the economic activities in the region (especially forestry and wood processing, as well as mining and material for constructions) recommend this space as a significant regional entity. This paper may be a model and a first step in the process of researching the anisotropic regions of Romania.
