  Rezumat:  The Urban Infrastructure and the Quality of Residential Areas in Cluj-Napoca. The recent developments in the construction sector and the explosive increase in the transportation represent a strong challenge for the local authorities, for the city developers and for the private entrepreneurs. After more than a decade of apparent indifference, the infrastructural problems of the city arrived to be in the center of public attention, being used also to propagandistic purposes. However, the development works that recently started show that the city hall and the local council are taking their job seriously, so the state of the city’s transportation, communal, telecommunication and institutional network is expected to improve significantly in the following years.
