  Rezumat:  The Centenary of Geography at the ”Al. I. Cuza” University of Iaşi (28-31 October 2004). It comprised a large suite of manifestations: the granting of Doctor Honoris Causa’s title to the Professor Jean-Robert Pitte PhD from the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Paris IV, France and of Honourable Professors of „Al. I. Cuza” University of Iaşi to the Professors Ioan Ianoş, University of Bucharest and Grigor P. Pop, „Babeş-Bolyai” University of Cluj-Napoca; granting of medals and of Excellency and praiseworthy diplomas; uncovering of Professor Mihai David’s bust; unfolding of the scientific symposiums (exceeding 200 papers) and of the field’s applications etc., all in a distinguished deportment.
