  Rezumat:  Evaluation of Competence and Foreign Language Skills Within the Framework of Vocational Training at the College of Tourism. The study seeks to set forth a lucrative kit of criteria required for an evaluation of foreign language competence and skills necessary for tourism trainees. The criteria should necessarily include: the recommendations made by the European Council and promoted through the Common European Framework of Reference for langauge learning, teaching and assessment(CEF), the European Language Portfolio, methods and strategies suggested by renouned applied linguists, the practitioner`s life-long experience and the constraints exercised by the area or field studied.
