  Rezumat:   The article reflects the cultural and social identity of the German minority in the Satu Mare region after a controverse history. The theme of the German identity after the revolution (1989) was often avert making it a conscious avoidance of the question: "Who is the german minority the Satu Mare ?". The bibliography for this subject is poor and often influenced by the subjective view of the author. In the following pages I intend to draw up an objective picture of the identity of the german minority in Satu Mare after the romanian revolution.
