Rezumat:  We continue in this issue of our review the analysis made by Prof. Bradshaw in his article entitled “The divine energies in the New Testament” from the point in which the author extends his search of the term e)nergei=sqai (the verb in its middle/ passive form) to what he calls “extra-Biblical literature”, both “pagan” and Christian (Aristotle, Polybius, Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria etc.). He convincingly proves that the above-mentioned term is always in its passive, never in its middle form. In the light of what has been told earlier (see the first part of this article), Prof. Bradshaw concludes, as regarding this term, that it is used when indicating that God or other spiritual agent is at work imparting an energy. Nevertheless, this energy is not made effective without man’s willingly response to God’s gift. At the end of his article, the author is convinced that there is a concept of divine energy in the New Testament, although not clearly defined and conceptualized, as it will be the case in the following centuries.
