Rezumat: Some notes on Christian Archaeology. 6. About dating and interpretation of somes early Christian pieces (106-275/313 AD) found in Dacia. The author (Nicolae Gudea) makes a presentation of two important works dealing with Early Christian finds from 3rd-5th centuries AD: „Evidence of Christianity in Roman Southern Pannonia (northern Croatia). A catalogue of finds and sites”. Oxford 1996 by Branka Migotti, respectively „Evidence of Christianity in Roman Britain. The small finds”. Oxford 1988 by C.F. Wawer As shown by the titles the works present important and less important or only minor archaeological discoveries from Early Christianity. Both works constitute a kind of revolution in the European Christian archaeology (wholly uncanonical) as they introduced in the circuit of scientific life a series of pieces which had been rejected by the tradition of Christian archaeology. Both works come to support the ideas expressed in the book „From the history of Christianity with Romanians. Archaeological evidences” by the authors N. Gudea and I. Ghiurco (Oradea 1988). This book, at its time, put into circulation similar types of pieces, but their Christian character was doubted by some archaeologists. By reviewing the above mentioned two works, the reviewer (N. Gudea) wish to demonstrate that his ideas hadn’t been singular and that after a 20 years ellapse of time since the publication of his book his ideas have got confirmation on European level. |
