  Rezumat:  To elaborate a HPLC system is a challenge for each engineer in the lab: on one hand, there are complex mechanical components like the solvent delivery system, the injector system and the detector; on the other hand, an intelligent control system is necessary to co-ordinate these various modules. Recent advances in instrument hardware and software technology are of particular importance for anyone who is involved in the development and optimisation of HPLC methods. The paper describes the "LC100" system with particular attention given to the main components of the HPLC system.
