DYNAMICS OF THERMALLY DRIVEN SPRING-BLOCK SYSTEM ON INHOMOGENEOUS SURFACE. Autori: . |

Rezumat: Using the simple model of two blocks sliding on a flat surface with friction and connected via a spring with stochastic tension, we study by computer simulation the conditions under which the system undergoes an overall drift. We claim that the model bears relevance to the dynamics of dissipative mesoscopic systems in contact with a heat bath with special regard to nanomotors. The study covers the dependence of this drift on parameters such as those describing the nature of the friction including spatial inhomogeneity or those characterizing the stochasticity in the spring force. The algorithm used for integrating the equations of motion is presented in detail together with the results of test setups.
