  Rezumat:  Balázs Trencsényi''s book The Politics of National Character. A study in Interwar East European Thought is one of the most recent publications dealing with the topic of national identity and specificity in Eastern Europe in the interwar period. The book is a comparative analysis of the narrative construction of specificity in Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. By means of these three significant case-studies, the aim of the book is to emphasize the common traits as well as differences between identity discourses in this part of Europe. The book is presently available only in English to Romanian readers; it has not been translated into Romanian due to its recent publication at the Routledge publishing house in London. However, it should be an essential part of all biographies on the topic.
