  Rezumat:  Presently, the increase of environmental pollution in industrial cities accelerates the destruction of stone memorial art. The humidity together with the pollution favors the physical, chemical and biogenic factors responsible for the deterioration of stone monuments in an urban environment. Therefore their monitoring is of high importance. The periodical inspection reveals present changes, enables prediction for future damages and facilitates a decision on restoration and conservation works.
