CATALYTIC SYNTHESIS OF DIMETHYL CARBONATE FROM METHANOL AND CARBON DIOXIDE. Autori: JENŐ BÓDIS, GEORGE A. OLAH. |
||||||
Rezumat: The direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from carbon dioxide and methanol, or dimethyl ether, in presence of magnesium and aluminum methoxide as catalysts was studied. The reactions were performed under batch conditions with catalysts in homogeneous liquid phase of excess methanol (no other solvent was used) at different partial pressures of carbon dioxide and at different temperatures. Depending on the reaction conditions and using magnesium methoxide as catalyst, dimethyl carbonate in 2-7% yield was detected. | |||||||
