  Rezumat:  Simion Gocan graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, Research and Analysis Department of “Victor Babes” University, Cluj-Napoca in 1954. In 1969 he obtained his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Candin Liteanu. His teaching activity started at the Physical Department of the Polytechnic Institute and continued at the Pedagogical Institute as an assistant professor in Cluj-Napoca. In 1972 he joined the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, “Babes-Bolyai” University and from 1990 he was a full professor at the Analytical Chemistry Department. He was the head of the Department from 1990 to 1996, when he retired. His activity continued as a consulting professor and in 2009 he was granted the title of honorific consulting professor.
