1. Submission of the Paper
The corresponding author submits the paper to the journal. This is made by email to the address:

2. Editorial Office Assessment
The journal checks the paper’s composition and arrangement against the journal’s Author Guidelines to make sure it follows the requirements stated in the Instructions for the authors.

3. Evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief checks that the paper is appropriate for the journal and is sufficiently original and interesting. If not, the paper may be rejected without being reviewed any further.

4. Invitation to Review (double-blind peer review)
Associate Editors assigned handle the peer review process. They send invitations to peers that could be appropriate reviewers. The required number of reviewers is minimum 2. The invited reviewers consider the invitation against their own expertise, conflicts of interest and availability. They may accept or decline. The process is repeated until the number pf requested reviewers is achieved.

5. Review is Conducted
The reviewer read the paper, and if major problems are found at this stage, it can reject the paper without further work. Otherwise he/she builds a detailed review, competing a Review form. The recommendation can be: accept, minor revision, major revision or reject the paper.

6. Decision is Taken and Communicated
The handling editor considers the reviews and makes an overall decision. If the reviews are strongly different, an additional reviewer can be invited for an extra opinion before making a decision. The editor sends the Decision letter by email to the corresponding author including all reviewer comments. The comments are anonymous.

7. Response to the Reviewers
If the paper was sent back for revision, an improved version is expected to be received, along with a Response to the reviewers in which all questions should be properly answered and the changes made in the new version highlighted. The steps 4 to 6 are repeated and the final decision is: accept or reject.

8. Publication
If accepted, the paper is published in the journal. The authors are requested to complete and send a Copyright agreement before publication.
