AIMS AND SCOPE

Ever since 2004, the editorial office of Studia UBB Philosophia series has put into practice a strategy for increasing the publication quality concerning the following aspects:

  • Creating a dynamic editorial board, made up of young researchers with doctor’s degree of the Babes-Bolyai University, willing to get involved in the editorial team work. They will be joined by researchers from abroad, willing to get involved as well in the creation of the publication. Another measure aims at establishing a strict editorial discipline.
  • Creation of an editorial staff made up of names of national and international fame.
  • Adopting the peer review system (starting with no. 1/2005).
  • Improving the publication graphic form (starting with no. 1/2005).
  • Publishing the materials only in international languages (starting with no. 2/2005).
  • Creating the publication web page (the winter of 2005).
  • Increasing the cooperation with other scientific publications from abroad and entering on the market of academic specialized publications from abroad on the basis of subscriptions and orders.

According to the objectives of "The Strategy for Increasing the Publication Quality between 2005-2006 - today" drawn up by the editorial office of Studia Philosophia, starting the university year 2005-2006 the following activities for increasing the publication international fame were carried on:

a) measures for increasing the publication inner quality:
- enlarging the portfolio of studies and reviews, by establishing contacts with famous foreign and Romanian researchers;
- creating a series together with the Universitat Tubingen, which means the increasing of the publication quality and spreading in Germany (starting with no. 2/2005);
- improving the editorial board work; hiring a Ph. D. candidate as editorial secretary (starting with no. 1/2005);
- realizing the declared frequency;
- improving the make-up and graphic quality.

b) measures for including the publication among the scientific publications and for increasing its prestige:

- the opening of the publication web page (March 2006);
- the undertaking of a part of the international distribution (in order to honor the order of Heidegger Gesellschaft, Tubingen);
- the renewing of the Romanian National Council of Scientific Research of Higher Education evaluation file (2006 - 2024);
 - the exploring of some international data bases for future collaboration, according to the contracts that have been already concluded;
- the receiving in the editorial board of some Romanian and especially foreign personalities of first rank.

The journal is classified by the Romanian National Council of Scientific Research of Higher Education (CNCS) in the B Category.

Receipt of the articles, information about copyright

Submission:
Research papers of adequate academic standard will be considered and will be subjected to a double-blind peer-review process. Papers on all accountancy and corporate management related aspects with a corporate social responsibility, ethics, sustainability and developmental perspective within an emerging economical context will be considered.

Papers should be prepared for a blind peer-review, i.e. the name(s) of the author(s) should not appear in the text of the article, but should be provided on a separate cover letter. Submissions are to be made to both the editor and guest editor.

All papers for consideration must be prepared in accordance the journal editorial and grammatical requirements. These can be found at http://studia.ubbcluj.ro/download/instr/philosophia.pdf

The editors’ committee would reject those papers which do not reach the quality level required for an academic journal. The authors will be announced on the acceptance or rejection if their papers and about the suggestions made by the reviewers. All papers are reviewed independently at least by two referees, but the authors are entirely responsible for the content of their papers. All published papers will become property of the journal.

Issues, Deadlines:
The journal is published three times a year in April, August and December.
The paper submission for the Studia UBB Philosophia volumes are programmed as follow:

‐ For volume 1 the final papers will be received until January 15;
‐ For volume 2 the final papers will be received until May 15;
‐ For volume 3 the final papers will be received until September 15.

Prevention and Fight against Plagiarism and other forms of fraudulent conduct
Authors of the journal must be aware and understand that Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai intends to prevent, and also sanctions attempts and acts of plagiarism and other forms of fraudulent conduct, including but not limited to the fabrication and/or falsification of data. Therefore, authors are hereby advised that:
– Plagiarism attempts or other fraudulent actions discovered and documented during the review process (Editorial Office, peer review) may lead to: a) rejection of the manuscript for publication; b) official information of the higher education or research institution of the author’s affiliation; and c) information of the scholarly community and public opinion.
– Upon notification on allegation of plagiarism or other fraudulent actions for any article that has been already published in Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai, and following the thorough verification of the notification, the Editorial Office may take the following steps: a) contact the Index of allegations of plagiarized works in Romania; b) follow the procedure in place for plagiarism attempts or other fraudulent actions discovered and documented during the review process; c) officially inform the higher education or research institution of the author’s affiliation, making available all necessary documents (including the author’s responsible declaration of originality); d) advise the most important international databases about the allegation of plagiarism; and e) publish (on the site, etc.) its official position on the matter.
