  Abstract:  The historic way of the Church of Munkačevo. The paper presents the process of crystallization of the Greek-Catholic Church in Hungary, around the Bishopric of Munkačevo (present Munkács). The evolution began with the birth of this community through the union of Užhorod (1646), realized by the Orthodox clergy from northern Hungary, with the involvement of the Austrian Crown, but also of the Romanian Bishop Simion Ştefan of Transylvania. The paper then describes the evolution of this Church with the transformations of the liturgy on the 18th century, the unification of the liturgical traditions inherited from the Ukrainian and Serbian areas. Other changes occurred in the organization of the hierarchy, following the political evolution at the end of the 18th century, when Galizia was annexed to the Hapsburg Empire.
