Abstract:   The Socio-Ethical and Indentity Defining Aspects of the Old Testament Transgenerational Conficts. This paper aims to deal with the basic questions, which enlight the points of interest of this avoided topic of the Old Testament. We can not speak about Christian vocation, education or identity without understanding the socio-ehical, socilogical, legal and educational aspects of the biblical era. This way we may take a look at the transgenerational problems of the parent-child relationship, the characteristics of the community and individual identity. I also analyzed the specifics of the 5th commandment, in which the laws regarding family protecion are concentrated. Our goal is to summarize these aspects in order to make clear: for the man of the Old Testament the problem of the relationship between generations is a very sensitive area, and therefore it has a huge interest regarding it, unusual for the level of depvelopment and civilization he is in. It also bears a surplus, since it is the relationship with God of the all-time parent, educator and child. This coram Deo status interferes with the reference area of every generation and defines it.Every demonstration of an Old Testament ehical issue is related with the subject of this paper, therefore I will deal only on surface, without the need of perfection with the ethical issues present in the world of the Old Testament, and which are relevant for the sociological-sociographic and socio-anthropologic research.

Keywords: transgenerational conflicts, respect for parents, Decalogue, firstborn, sacrifice, adultery, coram Deo.
