Article:   THE SONG OF SONGS – SYMBOLICAL AND CONTEXTUAL RELATION TO ISAIAH 5.

Abstract:  This study proposes a scientific approach to the Song of Songs, related to chapter 5, verses 1-7 from Isaiah. The Song of Songs is a lyrical poem that presents the hypothesis of the song of love between bride and groom. This imagines the dynamic reunion between God and the Church (symbolized by the union of the bride with Christ-Groom) and reflects the faithfulness that the two of them have towards each other. It is positioned antagonistically against the prophetic scriptures that use this nuptial image to underline the state of infidelity of the bride, the house of Israel.

Key-words: Sir Hasirim, luxurious poem, Solomon, Meghilot, nuptial song, Sulamita, epithalamium, Groom, Logos, bride, Church.
