Article:   THE FAMILY VALUES IN A POST-METAPHYSICAL CONTEXT.

Abstract:  The contemporary crisis of family is inevitably bound with the crisis of values affected by the postmodern subjectivism and relativism. Equivocally understood, the death of metaphysics sends to the death of moral, dogmatic and traditional values of the Church, that had been theoretical foundations for the Christian family for many centuries. Consequently, the family cannot be defended anymore by simple appeal to those values today suspected of hypocrisy and will to power. Based on phenomenology and orthodox theology, this text tries a postmetaphysical argument for the Christian family that refers „the mystery of love”: the communion with the living God. Only as a spiritual way the Christian family reveals its true aim and vocation, the family being neither a rigid moralism, nor coercion and lack of liberty, but the non-monkish way of deification and the joy of communion with God and with the other, the beloved.

Keywords: family values, the death of metaphysics, postmodernism, phenomenology, deification.
