  Abstract:  La synthese de la philosphie augustinienne chez Etienne Gilson. Etienne Gilson a tenté une synthèse de l’oeuvre augustinienne sous l’angle philosophique surtout dans son Introduction à l’étude de S. Augustin. Travail classique du grand historien de la philosophie médiévale, cette étude développe les thèmes importants de l’augustinisme selon le schéma intelligence – volonté, structuré en plusieurs étapes : de la foi à la liberté chrétienne, à travers la connaissance rationnelle mise en pratique par la sagesse.
