  Abstract:  L’eglise roumaine unie. aproche historique général. L’Eglise Roumaine Unie est née à la suite de l’union de la majorité orthodoxe de la Transylvanie avec Rome en 1700. C’est une Eglise Catholique de rite byzantin (oriental). L’Etat communiste, par son décret no. 358 / 1 décembre 1948, a liquidé cette Eglise, faisant siens les biens meubles et immeubles, tandis que l’Eglise Orthodoxe entrait en possession de toutes les églises catholiques de rite oriental. La raison de l’acharnement tout à fait spécial du régime communiste contre l’Eglise Gréco-Catholique réside justement dans son appartenance à l’Eglise Catholique, qui la rend indépendante des ingérences de l’Etat.
