  Abstract:  Der Autor des vorliegenden Artikels bezieht sich auf eine Anordnung der Lateinischen Abteilung der Rumänischen Bischofs¬konferenz (2011), der nach die bislang praktizierte Handkommunion verboten wird. Der Artikel geht wichtigen liturgiegeschichtlichen Stationen nach um die ausgelöste Diskrepanz in kirchlicher Praxis zu präsentieren. Ohne be- und verurteilende Stellungnahme weist er darauf hin, dass die Handkommunion sowohl in vergangenen Epochen, als auch heute ihre Legitimität gehabt hatte und hat.
