Abstract:  The hypothesis whether a special kind of religiosity, theawareness of God’s presence in different aspects of one’s life mediates thenegative effects of insecure attachment on the psychological well-being(defined with the terms of the analytic existential school as the lack ofanxiety, the balance between positive and negative affects, self-identity andthe sense of meaning) was tested. As a result it seems that a special kind ofreligiosity, the awareness of God, in contrast with the emotional basedreligiosity, has a benefic effect on the existential well-being (sense ofmeaning), that is, this kind of religiosity can help people with problems inother psychological areas to integrate these disorders and live anexistentially fulfilled life. Further, it was shown that the religiosity ofpeople who are highly anxious in relationships is emotion-based, they relateto God as an absolute attachment-figure, secure base and the source ofconsolation.
