  Abstract:   In this article the author presents a short terminalogical approach concerning exceptional children and the way the term change in time, having into consideration different psychological paradigms. Thus, a psychological profile of the highly gifted children it is also shaped in order to underline their great complexity. In order to emphasize the fact that although the exceptional children as a psycho-pedagogical area can be individualized, teacher treaning to work with them can be improved, the author organized a short research based on a questionaeer among 1st year students, those being in their first didactical training program.
