Abstract:  Some Aspects Concerning the Ethno-Nationalism in Transylvania after 1989. There are many theories that are explaining the rise of ethno-nationalism in the East-European countries after 1989. The present study aims to test several of their consequences for the Romanian case. Using the data of the three surveys conducted in the city of Cluj, the electoral and statistical data aggregated at the locality level and 10 individual in-depth interviews, I argue that some of the ethno-nationalistic type attitudes are determined by the level of formal education that individuals have and that these attitudes are not significantly related with factors that are considered as important by some of the theories.
