  Article:   RESONANCE INTEGRAL AND THERMAL CROSS-SECTION MEASUREMENTS ON SAMARIUM USING AM-BE AND PU-BE ISOTOPIC NEUTRON SOURCES.

  Abstract:  The nuclear reaction mechanism involving resonance neutrons has been studied and the resonance integral and interaction cross-section for the 152Sm(n,γ)153Sm reaction have been calculated after irradiation in the neutron field produced by the 241Am- 9Be and 239Pu-9Be isotopic neutron sources. For the data and calculations to be accurate, corrections have been made all the way. These corrections include neutron self-absorbtion, gama-ray attenuation geometry of the samples, geometry of the irradiation site and non-ideality of the epithermal neutron spectrum.
