	Abstract: This paper presents the results of mineralogical and physical analyses carried out on 17 Roman ceramic fragments (bricks and tiles) from Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa and six clay samples taken for X-ray diffraction of the bulk composition and the fine clay fraction, in order to draw some conclusions on the physical characteristics and firing parameters.
