  Abstract:  Economical Changes in the Craiova Metropolitan Area, from 1990 to 2006 (I). The highly favorable natural conditions are reflected in the structure of agricultural productions. The corn (Breasta, Robăneşti, Mischii, Şimnicu de Sus, Goieşti) is the one of the main cereals, according with a specific agriculture; secondary are cultivated the grain (Robăneşti, Şimnicu de Sus, Coşoveni) and the sunflower (Şimnicu de Sus, Coşoveni, Pieleşti şi Robăneşti). Vegetables production specialization is characteristic for in some rural settlements (Breasta, Bucovăţ, Calopăr, Cârcea, Goieşti,). A specific investigation direction was the animal/vegetal ratio; the results indicate an intensive character of the agriculture in metropolitan area.
