Abstract:  Climatic and Hydrological Premises for the Constitution of the Regional System of the Moţilor Land. In order to be considered a functional regional system, a certain area of the Earth must undergo a series of conditions among which some should be noted: the existence of definite boundaries; the spatial extension large enough to allow certain generalizations; the existence of specific geographical characteristics (which give individually to the region); efficient interrelations among the elements; enough complexity in order to adapt periodically to the new conditions that might appear; the existence of certain interrelations with other neighboring systems; the capacity of the system to inhibit its own negative processes that might harm its integrity. The Moţilor Land has all these characteristics, which allows it to be included in the category of the regional systems called "lands". A series of premises lay at the bottom of this kind of regional systems. By their nature and their dynamics these premises may be favorable factors or critical factors for the functioning of the system. In Moţilor Land the climatic and hydrological conditions have a major impact on the system, both through positive and negative attributes.
