Abstract: Introduction. Body image is a frequent term nowadays, when each individual tries to display a body image as close as possible to that of a model promoted by the society or by the media, which can ensure, indirectly, success in a field of activity. Objectives. The purpose of this study is to find out students'''' concerns over their own body image. Method and Materials. 311 students were interviewed in this study, all from different faculties of Babeş-Bolyai University, their average age was 20.11. The students filled out an adapted questionnaire containing 11 questions about body image perception. Results and Conclusions. In general, young people are concerned with the way in which they appear in front of others, girls are more careful with what they wear so as not to look overweight. Most of the respondents wish to change something in their own body, but this is more obvious among girls. Keywords: students, body image, perceptions, overweight. |
