Profesor Liviu Oniciu was born on 11th of February 1927 in Cluj. He got an excellent high school education in both, literary and scientific directions, at the Pedagogical Seminar of the Cluj University (1946). He graduated the Faculty of Science of “Victor Babeş” University in Cluj (1950), becoming an assistant at the Chair of Physical Chemistry of this faculty. He retired in 1997, at the age of 70, but he continued to work as a consulting Professor, until the last days of his life (27th of November 1999).
