  Abstract:   The present paper represents the first study concerning benthic diatom communities from the Crişul Alb River, Ineu section. Qualitative samples were collected in autumn 2007 from five sampling sites located near Ineu locality, on the main river course. Most of the species identified in the study area were cosmopolitan, but many were eutrophic or hypertrophic, due to natural conditions but also to human impacts present in the region.
