Abstract:  The existing and potential feedbacks between terrestrial ecosystem processes and atmospheric CO2 concentrations remain one of the largest uncertainties in our understanding of the global carbon cycle. The isotopic composition of atmospheric CO2, contains information about the magnitude and distributions of sources and sinks of carbon. Biological and anthropogenic contributions to the CO2 mixing ratios are currently studied by using stable isotopes of carbon and oxygen. In this work, we identified the sources of the CO2 by Keeling plot method, which allows us to identify the sources of CO2 in the urban area of Cluj-Napoca.

Keywords: stable isotopes, mass spectrometry, greenhouse gases, isotopic signature
