  Abstract:  This study describes the glycerol derivatization in a process with two consecutive reactions: acetylation with butyraldehyde and hydroxyacetals carbonatation, with the production of glycerol acetal carbonates with dioxane and dioxolane structures. We aim to obtain the highest possible yield by the investigation of characteristic parameters that are specific for each reaction.
