  Abstract:  The Self – Discrepancy Theory – A Mean To Talk About Self-Esteem. The Self-Esteem is a big problem of our society. A person with high Self-Esteem has more succes in his/her life. Torry Higgins proposes a new theory of Self-Esteem named The Self-Discrepancy Theory. The author talks about six types of representations of self; the discrepancy between them lead to a low Self-Esteem.
