Article:   THE QUESTION OF THE NATIONS IN THE OLD AND THE NEW TESTAMENT THROUGH A FEW IMPORTANT PERICOPES.

Abstract:   In the first chapter I examined those pericopes from the OT which present the formation of nations, their place in the world, their connections with other nations and with God. In the selection process of the OT passages I restricted the choices to Genesis 1-11 where the author(s) recorded the so-called ‘model stories’ related to humanity. I did not deal with the ethics of war, although I slightly touch this problem in the part about ordines and ordinations, where I used biblical texts other than Genesis 1–11.The theme of the second chapter is the situation of the ethnicities in the NT, their position in the world, their connections with each other and with God after the redemption of Christ. Also, I pointed out how they complemented the ethical messages of the OT related to the nations. I examined the story of the Pentecost (Acts 2,4-12), and two other following verses which focus on the problem of different nations and ethnicities: Acts 17,26 and Gal. 3,28.

Keywords: nation, ethnicity, nationality, faith, ethics.
