  Abstract:  The Situation of the Authonomy of the Tranylvanian Reformed Schools in the Bach Period. Count Leó Thun, Minister of Education, after serious preparations, acceptedthe Entwurf, controlling secondary education and in November 1849 hemade it compulsory in the Empire of Francis Joseph. In Hungary the bill,despite its high standard, caused serious protests. Protest ant schools had attackedit for reducing their autonomy. The autonomy of Protest ant schoolswas protected in Transylvania too, but the principles of Entwurf were accepted.The measure, which met the demands of the age on a very high levelwas accepted in Hungary as well as in Transylvania after the reconstructionof constitutionalism. The bill was passed nearly the same content in 1873,and from then on for almost a hundred years its content predominated inHungarian secondary education.
