  Article:   THE RETURN OF AN ECCLESIASTICAL INSTITUTION TO ITS INITIAL FORM. TURNING OF THE ORTHODOX OFFICE OF LOCUM TENENS FROM ORADEA INTO A BISHOPRIC 1900-1918.

  Abstract:  This study deals with a major problem that the office of locum tenens faced between 1900-1914, namely the reactivation of the Oradiei Bishopric. This ceased to exist after 1695, with the Diocesan Consistory being revived only in 1793. At the beginning of the 20th Century, the metropolitan seat considered its reactivation. The action started out enthusiastically, but the material problems that arose in the process, the lack of an unanimous decision as well as the outburst of World War I prevented this goal from being accomplished until much later.
