  Abstract:  The present study has proposed to explore an important moment in the history and construction of Europe, namely the end of the eight century, a very important period in the advent of the idea of Europe. During this period, the roman popes will not seek the protectorate of the Emperor of Constantinople, but they will turn their gaze to the new European power: Regnum Francorum.
