Abstract:  The Divinisation of Man in the Works of Gregory of Nazianze. The man’s vocation is a central doctrine in the theology of saint Gregory of Nazianze. This divinisation is possible through the Embodiment of the Son of God, the perfect Image. Created as the face of God, the human being aspires to the complete divine image. But, to become like God, the bishop of Cappadocia considers, the man should practice the virtue, should purify the heart and contemplate God who is the Light of the world. In the end, the last remark belongs to the silence, says the poet’s soul of saint Gregory, because the silence makes the words and the contemplation perfect and expresses the glory of the Creator and the divinisation of the man.

Keywords:divinisation, face of God, wish of God, light, virtue, purification, contemplation, silent hymn.
