Abstract:  The Romanian Church United with Rome, Greek-Catholic Major Archbishop Curia’s Structural Organization. Designed as an independent structure, Curia of the Major Archbishop is meant to help the Major Archbishop fulfill his duties as head and father of the Church that he leads. Major Archbishop is required to set it up and make it functional in all its attributes: the permanent synod, the bishops of the Curia, the ordinary court, the treasurer of the Major Archbishop, the Chancellor of the Major Archbishop, the committee on liturgical affairs and other committees, as it deems necessary. The role of this institution in the Church depends on the Major Archbishop and on each and every member of the Curia: dynamic – helping to coordinate pastoral and institutional setting of the evolving church – or static – addressing immediate and urgent problems that the Church faces. Recently established, the Curia of the Romanian Greek-Catholic ChurchUnited with Rome still seeks and questions its own setting, by assuming responsibilities that derive from the incumbent statutes and by always referring back to its ultimate goal, the salvation of souls.

Keywords: Curia, major archbishop, permanent synod, synod of bishops, bishops of the curia, ordinary tribunal, finance officer, commissions, chancellor, particular law, statute
