Abstract:  Forgiveness in John Paul 2nd’s teachings, as a more powerful love than the sin. The John Paul 2nd’s teachings about forgiveness have an important place in his theology and deserve all the attention. Precisely, he defines forgiveness being a more powerful love than the sin. This conception is based on the fundament of faith: through His Death and Resurrection, Jesus conquered the evil under his different forms. Surely, forgiveness involves the mercy, but also the truth, the justice, that’s why the love, the basis of forgiveness and of all the actions, is a demanding love, which leads to happiness.

Keywords: love, forgiveness, mercy, sin, truth, justice.
