Abstract:  Affirmation Of The Self And Individual Identity Building. The indivdualism promoted by the ethics of authenticity allows to be interpreted in a double manner: as a growth of egotism and atomisation (i.e., identity through differenciation and independence), or as a greater resonsibility toward the other, as a consequence of the inner-made solidarity). The opening toward alterity is compromised by rejecting the external values; the model of identity through differenciation and independence oposes the model of identity through obeying some internal or external laws. This type of identity was first described by Aristotle.
