  Article:   THE HOLY SATURDAY LITURGY.

Abstract:   The Holy Saturday Liturgy. The most important part of the Liturgical Year is the Lent and its core is the Holy Week. One of the few rites in which the Holy Liturgy is celebrated on the Holy Saturday is the Bizantine rite. The Liturgy celebrated on the Holy Saturday has some particularities that allow the theologians to make connections with the Pascal Vigil form the Roman rite. Also, there is a possibility that this Holy Liturgy might have been in the past the first Pascal Liturgy. In this perspective, the Holy Saturday Liturgy is combination of hope (presented in the hymnografical texts) and in the Gospel read by the priest, but it is also the last liturgical act of the Lent. In this way the spirit of the Lent and of the Holy Sunday of Ressurection co-exist and give us a first celebration of Easter.
