  Abstract:   La Vièrge Marie, mère de l’Église et de toute l’humanité. Symbole de la maternité universelle, Marie est aussi la nouvelle Ève, le soit-dit proto-évangile l’anonçant dès la chute du premier couple humain. La Mère du Seigneur est aussi la mère de tous les humains et de l’Église, parce qu’elle collabore à l’oeuvre redemptrice du Christ. Ces titres de Mère de l’Église et de l’humanité sont présents en germe dans l’Écriture et developpés par la littérature patristique. Sans tache, la Vierge Marie nous renvoit à l’idéal humain, à l’état de l’homme avant la chute. Elle est la nouvelle Ève, dans la quelle le péché a été éfacé par l’obéissance.
