  Article:   TWO SERMONS OF IOAN LEMENI.

  Abstract:  Two sermons of Ioan Lemeni. Bishop Ioan Lemeni led the diocese of Făgăras between 1832 and 1850, being extremely active in his pastoral activity. He visited almost all his eparchy, being well-known for his preaching talent. The press of that period attests that he was able to preach even four times a day. In spite of all these, we can not identify any of his sermons. Only two of them are known dated from the period prior to his election as bishop. Both were published. The first one is from 1814, when Ioan Lemeni was archpriest of Cluj. The second is from 1831 and was printed in Sibiu. It represents Lemeni’s sermon at the funeral of bishop Ioan Bob from October 1830. He spoke as former bishop’s secretary for the last ten years.
