  Abstract:  Heute feiern wir das 150-jährige Bestehen des hiesigen griechisch-katholischen Bistums. Es wurde 1853 in der Stadt Gherla gegründet, und weil die Stadt Gherla einst den Namen Armenopolis (Armenierstadt) trug, soll im Folgenden anläßlich des Jubiläums nach den Beziehungen der Armenier zu Gherla gefragt werden, und wir wollen die Vorgänge bei den Unionsabschlüssen der Armenier und der Rumänen miteinander vergleichen. Auch sei gleich vermerkt, daß der Annuario Pontificio, das päpstliche Jahrbuch, in dem alljährlich die katholischen Diözesen aus aller Welt verzeichnet werden, in Zusammenhang mit diesem Bistum immer noch den alten Stadtnamen Armenopolis anführt.
